Custom Commissions
Considered Objects accepts a limited number of commissions each year for garments, accessories, and textile works. Projects often begin with an existing piece, such as a wedding dress, an inherited garment, a vintage textile, or a meaningful object, and develop through a process of transformation, handwork, and thoughtful reworking.
Sara explores decorative and functional textile techniques, including hand-stitched silk flowers, visible mending, and textile embellishment, allowing each piece to evolve while preserving its connection to the past.
Textile Embellishment
Adding hand-stitched details to existing garments and textiles.
- Silk flower additions
- Hand-sewn flower embellishments on existing garments
- Botanical-inspired details
- Hand-stitched textile elements
Existing garments can be transformed through handmade details that introduce new layers of texture, meaning and personal expression.
Thoughtful Repair
Repairing and transforming worn textiles through visible handwork.
- Covering damaged areas with silk flowers
- Visible mending
- Reinforcing the life of treasured pieces
Rather than hiding signs of wear, these works embrace repair as part of the object's story. Hand-stitching and textile elements become functional and decorative, allowing garments to continue being worn and appreciated.
Custom Textile Works
Creating one-of-a-kind garments and textile objects developed from materials, memories, and ideas.
- Custom kimono garments
- Garments made from inherited textiles
- Textile objects
- Accessories
- Custom flower pieces (brooches, necklaces, and hair accessories in bespoke materials, colors, and sizes)
Some commissions begin with an idea, a material, or a personal history. We develop these projects collaboratively through conversation, design, and handwork in the studio. The flower collection can also be customized in a specific color palette, dye technique, or scale to suit a wedding, gift, or personal occasion.
