100% Oshima Tsumugi, 大島紬 silk kimono textile from Amami Oshima island in Japan, dating back to the early 20th century. Features a range of tonal warm, tea-brown tones, achieved through dorozome, 泥染め, (a traditional mud-dyeing process in which silk threads are repeatedly immersed in natural plant dyes and iron-rich mud). The result is a fabric with deep, lasting color and subtle variation.
The original kimono seams are preserved, honoring the garment's history and craftsmanship with unique patterns that have stood the test of time.
Unisex, relaxed fit with a loose, unstructured silhouette. Shell buttons, 1930s-1960s. Each garment is cut individually by hand. One of a kind.
