Each piece is made from rare vintage and antique silk kimono textiles, often with enough material for only one or two garments.  Once a textile is gone, that exact shade, weave, or pattern cannot be sourced again.

The front panel is patchworked from 100% silk kimono textiles from Japan, dating back to the early 20th century. Zero waste by design, each rectangle panel is hand-cut and reassembled to create a unique new fabric panel. 

It is combined with a black kurotomesode, 黒留袖 (a formal black kimono typically worn by married women for ceremonial occasions), and mid-century Oshima Tsumugi, 大島紬 (a finely woven silk from Amami Oshima, known for its lightweight and intricate patterns created through traditional mud-dyeing and ikat techniques). 

The original kimono seams are preserved, honoring the garment's history and craftsmanship with unique patterns that have stood the test of time. 

Unisex, relaxed fit with a loose, unstructured silhouette.  Shell buttons, 1930s-1960s.  Each garment is cut individually by hand. One of a kind.

The item featured is a size L.  Fits sizes M/L, depending on desired fit.   The model is 5'8" and typically wears a size L. 

Size M: Front length 28" / Back length 30" / Chest 24" / Sleeve length from high point shoulder 17.25" 

Size L: Front length 29" / Back length 31" / Chest 25" / Sleeve length from high point shoulder 18"
