Stretch mesh with a close, flexible fit, hand-stitched with flowers cut, petal by petal, from a limited supply of vintage and antique 100% silk kimonos and reclaimed silk textiles, sourced and repaired by hand. Once a piece of this fabric is used, it can't be replaced, so no two flowers are ever cut from the same cloth. Even two pieces of the same style will carry their own subtle differences in grain, wear, or shade, the same way no two blossoms in nature are identical. Each piece is one of a kind.
This is slow work, rooted in a family tradition of giving new life to kimono too worn or damaged to wear, carried forward through our own hands in a New York City studio.
Designed to be worn long, slightly scrunched, or pushed back at the wrist, on their own or layered beneath a sleeve, jacket, or coat.
The details
Finished with raw edges at the finger openings. Each flower is individually cut from antique and vintage silk kimono scraps and reclaimed silk textiles, then stitched in place by hand. Lightweight and sheer, soft against the skin. The flowers shown are representative; due to the handmade process and use of repurposed textiles, color, shape, and placement may vary slightly, while reflecting the same overall design sensibility.

Caring for your gloves
Age and wear are simply part of this textile's history, not a flaw. Slight variation, natural fraying, and softening over time are to be expected and are part of what gives vintage silk its character. Spot clean only when necessary.
