N° 90 crushed blooms fingerless gloves- sumi black
Stretch mesh fingerless gloves with a close, flexible fit, hand-sculpted with crushed blooms. Sourced directly from Japan, I repair each antique silk fragment by hand before cutting and shaping the petals one by one. Each crushed bloom is hand-stitched along the sheer mesh, letting the silk flowers frame the hand and arm, intended to sit long on the arm, softly scrunched, or tucked under a tailored jacket, coat, or sleeve.
I work without industrial factory molds or patterns, cutting, shaping, and hand-stitching every petal. This slow, labor-intensive work carries forward a family tradition of giving damaged historical textiles new life.

Process: Soft stretch mesh contoured for a close fit, with each crushed bloom individually cut, hand-sculpted, and hand-stitched onto the glove. The flowers shown are representative; due to the handmade process, slight variations in color, shape, and placement occur while honoring the same design sensibility.

Finish: Raw edge detailing throughout, celebrating the natural fraying and softening of aging silk.

Material Care
Aged wear and subtle shifts in texture belong to the history of the silk, not a defect. Slight fraying over time is a natural characteristic of raw-edge vintage textiles. Spot clean only when necessary, and gently reshape the petals by hand as needed.
