Made from deadstock tulle, gathered and shaped by hand in the studio, with flowers cut and stitched, petal by petal, from a limited supply of vintage and antique 100% silk kimonos and reclaimed silk textiles, sourced and repaired by hand. Once a piece of this fabric is used, it can't be replaced, so no two flowers are ever cut from the same cloth. Even two headscarves of the same style will carry their own subtle differences in tone, placement, and stitching, the same way no two blossoms in nature are identical. Each piece is one of a kind.
This is slow work, rooted in a family tradition of giving new life to kimonos too worn or damaged to wear, carried forward through our own hands in a New York City studio.
Lightweight and sheer with a soft drape, it can be adjusted and worn in multiple ways: hanging front or back, wrapped loosely as a scarf, or knotted to suit the wearer.

Each flower is individually cut and stitched from antique and vintage silk kimono scraps and reclaimed silk textiles. The flowers shown are representative; due to the handmade process and use of repurposed textiles, color, shape, and placement may vary slightly, while reflecting the same overall design sensibility.

Caring for your headscarf
Age and wear are simply part of this textile's history, not a flaw. Slight variation, natural fraying, and softening over time are to be expected and are part of what gives vintage silk its character. Spot clean only when necessary.

Each headscarf arrives in a handmade paper box, ready to give or keep, made with the same hands and care as the piece inside.
