Silk organza flowers are hand-cut, assembled, and hand-stitched one by one across a sheer mesh base. The placement follows a spontaneous, unplanned approach to handwork, resulting in subtle variation across each piece.
The thread is a blend of antique kasuri silk, including mud-dyed fibers from Amami Ōshima, Japan. Hon-ba dorozome 本場泥染め is a traditional dyeing technique that uses natural tannins from local plants combined with iron-rich mud. The process is repeated many times to gradually build the depth of color. Each thread carries irregularities and tonal shifts. They come from the handmade process, not uniform dyeing or industrial refinement.
Subtle variations in tone, texture, and stitch are intentional and remain visible as part of the material’s character. Lightweight sheer mesh, with an easy, unisex, relaxed shape.
