The pattern is cut from an ivory 'Tanmono'’, a roll of cloth to make a kimono. It features an 'Ume,' a Japanese plum blossom pattern. They are the first flowers to bloom in spring and are known as the flower of peace. A protective charm against evil, they also represent longevity, renewal, and perseverance.

Vintage kimono bolt fabric. 100% silk. Spot treat to clean or bring to a green dry cleaner. May be sensitive to treatment with dry cleaning chemicals.
